In 1995 I signed up as an Independent ACN Rep thinking I could turn an expense (our monthly telephone bill, into a recurring income. ACN offered a wide range of services including ACN Local Calling, Long Distance and some more technologically advanced products as well. However, shortly thereafter I found Cognigen, which offered the similar basic telephone service that I needed for less cost per minute, with no Rep signup fee, no monthly fees, free website, and no annual renewal fee. In traditional business earning a healthy profit is necessary and normal in order to stay in business. ACN is no different in that respect so you should calculate Gross Sales needed to cover all costs which will leave you with Gross Profit. Buying leads can be one of the higher costs when included over time.

Call me thin-skinned maybe - but I do not want to call Angry leads for ACN, or any opportunity, who are going to be defensive, disturbed, or even hostile in reaction to my phone call. It could be 6-9 PM PST where I live but 9-12 PM EST where they live. Maybe they were watching their favorite show, eating a late dinner, or even asleep already. Perhaps they work days, mids, nights - or even work 2-3 jobs these days - so no time is really a good to call them back. Most often leads will screen calls through their answering machines.

Success as an ACN Representative is determined by each individual’s experience, knowlege, and specific efforts. Not all ACN Independent Representatives make a profit. Profit is the universal term that signifies whether a business is successful or not. Without prfit no business can continue to keep running indefinitely. At some point, without profit, a business must fail.

Starting and developing an ACN business can be lucrative if you know how to effectively use the telephone, the Internet, and other effective marketing tools. Just as with any good business, success will be determined largely by the skill-set of the marketer. ACN is definitely not a lottery ticket or a stock option - meaning, you do not just buy in and wait for a payout.
