My brief ACN Experience & Review

I joined as an ACN Independent Rep in 1995. I figured through ACN people could save money over the dominant Big Three traditional telecomm carriers. I thought to save money myself, help others save, and create another stream of income. ACN products were great and even state of the art at that time.

I was so busy working 12-14 hour days and weekends though that I never even tried to market ACN. Shortly after I joined I found another telecom opportunity with similar savings for consumers but no startup or monthly fee to be an independent Rep. The commissions were quite a bit smaller than possible from ACN but there was no risk of losing money. So I ended up switching to the other free opportunity (Cognigen) and dropping out of ACN altogether.

When evaluating any opportunity don’t forget to include the high costs in most that require you to buy leads - if that is the primary advertising method being promoted. If so there will likely be a high drop out rate as new members realize they cannot afford the time and money to buy and effectively utilize leads.

The older a lead gets the less valuable it is and often they are resold many times. Also it is well known that most leads are generated by offering people something for free. Lead brokers on Google may sell and resell the same leads many times, even to other lead brokers who do the same.

It’s better to create your own prospect list who will respect you for marketing professionally and responsibly. It is much easier to do business with someone you know and feel you can trust.

Over 95% of people who start a home based business will fail. The experienced top five percent likely already have a huge list to market to, with teams of people in place who will follow them in. These top marketers can fill multiple levels deep in a matter of days or weeks, break records, and foster Hype, Lies, and Deceipt. Usually top people double-dip creating extra streams of income for themselves by selling leads, marketing materials, business cards, flyers, websites, etc. to their group as well. Oftentimes it is not the opportunity itself but the marketing side that truly makes the upline rich!

ACN not only requires substantial customer acquisition but makes it clear that not all Independent Representatives make a profit and no one can be guaranteed success as an ACN Independent Representative. Success can only come through individual specific efforts in acquiring customers and recruiting other Independent Representatives who must also acquire customers. As with any legitimate business it takes some combination of money, resources, and consistent effort over time in order to succeed.

Success as an ACN Representative is determined by each individual’s experience, knowlege, and specific efforts. Not all ACN Independent Representatives make a profit. Profit is the universal term that signifies whether a business is successful or not. Without prfit no business can continue to keep running indefinitely. At some point, without profit, a business must fail.
