I became an Independent ACN Rep in 1995 mainly because a family member was excited, and I thought it made sense to try to take some money back from the greedy big three telephone companies. Deregulation had created opportunities for people to save on exhorbitant per minute calling rates from newer companies like ACN. Shortly after I joined ACN though I found Cognigen via Google, which offered long distance rates at about the same cost per minute as ACN with no Rep signup or recurring fees whatsoever. Cognigen Independent Reps were normally in profit on their very first sale, usually to themselves, whereas ACN Independent Reps had to reach a certain sales volume just to reach break-even to recover the initial signup fee and ongoing monthly costs. Therefore, in my mind, switching to Cognigen was a no-brainer and I never did promote ACN, even though commissions were twice as lucrative and they did appear to have some pretty cool advanced products.

There are many places where you can get ACN-Leads. Just Google “ACN leads” and you’ll see over 1.5 million organic listings. Some Google sites offer free ACN leads so you could theoretically try them first. But to my knowledge ACN policy prohibits buying Leads - so check with ACN policy first.

ACN’s annual revenues have skyrocketed to over half a billion dollars, with annual double-digit growth year after year, and today ACN reigns as the world’s largest direct selling telecommunications service provider. In fact, ACN is a global conglomerate providing telecommunications services to customers in 19 countries spanning North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

If you buy Biz Opp seeker leads off Google, and try to call them, it is most likely you will get an answering machine, no answer, a dead number, or an upset person who filled out some survey for something free and now is wondering why they are getting called ten times a day. Calling leads may work for a few gifted telemarketer types but most of your organization will find it too uncomfortable, expensive, and time consuming.

Due to all the technology companies competing there is often low profit margin in telecomm residential services. Another competing technology MLM in which I was a member only payed 6-12% - and they were much better than some others. ACN commissions are higher than most in the technology sector but you need to factor in startup and recurring costs to get the true comparison. In traditional business earning a healthy profit is necessary and normal in order to stay in business. ACN is no different in that respect so you should calculate Gross Sales needed to cover all costs which will leave you with Gross Profit. Buying leads can be one of the higher costs when included over time.

Call me thin-skinned maybe - but I do not want to call Angry leads for ACN, or any opportunity, who are going to be defensive, disturbed, or even hostile in reaction to my phone call. It could be 6-9 PM PST where I live but 9-12 PM EST where they live. Maybe they were watching their favorite show, eating a late dinner, or even asleep already. Perhaps they work days, mids, nights - or even work 2-3 jobs these days - so no time is really a good to call them back. Most often leads will screen calls through their answering machines.

Success as an ACN Representative is determined by each individual’s experience, knowlege, and specific efforts. Not all ACN Independent Representatives make a profit. Profit is the universal term that signifies whether a business is successful or not. Without prfit no business can continue to keep running indefinitely. At some point, without profit, a business must fail.

ACN was the featured company in Success from Home magazine’s April 2007 issue. The magazine contained detailed information on the company’s history including Co-Founders Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz and Tony Cupisz. Plus the magazine highlighted ACN’s products, support system and some of their leading representatives.
