Avon – The Company of Excellence

Avon, the beauty company that created the model for the direct sale of fragrances, cosmetics and personal care products 118 years ago, is in the midst of a renaissance.

Chosen as the 2003 Company of the Year: Excellence in Packaging by the readers of Cosmetic Packaging & Design, Avon’s history of providing American women with quality beauty products has evolved into the global “company for women.”

The Avon story closely parallels that of the American woman, the consumer the company has served since its start. As American women have expanded their worlds, pursuing new opportunities, becoming ever more proactive and productive, so has Avon.

At first a natural evolution, Avon’s growth is now part of a determined global transformation to “better serve customers and Representatives and drive future growth. And while the image of an Avon Representative is female, there are male Representatives as well. With the opportunities our new programs offer, more couples are working together because of the flexibility and great earnings potential.

The large number of Avon Representatives is a very effective strategy to reach consumers. More than 40 million women worldwide (25 million in the U.S.) have sold Avon products since the company’s beginning in 1886.

Avon Representatives fit no single mold. Some work full time, but the majority appreciates the flexibility that selling Avon affords them to balance work and family and/or school. There’s no set number of years that most Representatives serve, but there are levels of achievement ranging from President’s Club (,000 and up) to Inner Circle (more than 5,000) for those top sellers, who are often also those with the longest service. – Taken from an Article I Beauty Packaging - http://www.beautypackaging.com according to Google Research.

Since 1886 Avon Company has been bringing woman into the business world and in a BIG way. They have excellent products and provide services for woman in their homes. While doing home parties and getting together with family and friends can at first be fun and entertaining, it can’t sustain and grow an ever expanding business. Methods changed over the years just as society changes. With the increasing advent of newspapers and magazines, Avon Representatives turned to advertising. TV and Radio also came into play. With the internet coming into the picture, at first no one knew the effect it would have on commerce. Now almost everyone uses the internet and web sites to catch the attention of prospective customers. From Wal-Mart to the tiny corner store, almost everyone has an internet presence.

Online sales are on the rise, becoming the norm. Over 50% of people in the US purchase products and services via the internet. And that number is growing rapidly. We purchase groceries to gardening supplies. A business grew up to sell our private information to the public; our names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses are now being sold and resold so that you and I can be harassed by unwanted phone calls, huge influx of unwanted emails, stacks of what we call ‘junk’ mail and so on. But the Leads business is Big, strong and growing. Avon Leads are purchased to fill the void of not being able to meet enough people going to party or talking to co-workers. Those people wanting to grow rapidly often turned to the enticing adds of Lead Generation Companies that promise that they only sell leads ONCE and that all the people on the list are just waiting for you to email or phone because they asked for someone to contact them. Avon Leads are no difference than other companies purchasing leads. Just ask yourself the next time the phone rings if you asked for that information.

But wanting to build your business is all about success and you do need a lot of clients, so what about Buy Customers, not leads. How’s that you say? Well, it’s called Its Good Business.

What would you really rather have in your business, several hundred customers or several hundred leads, i.e. Hostile people not wanting to be bothered. Not to hard a choice, is it? But how?

Well there is a business that teaches how to Buy Customers, not leads. Check out Its Good Business. It will give you what you want and need. A strong successful company with many clients using your products, Isn’t that what business is all about?
